THORNHILL, ON — The 2017 Heavens Eleven Warriors are set to travel to the Thornhill Tournament from August 21–23, 2026, where they will take on a tough, high-intensity slate of matches featuring older opposition and formidable competition.
According to the team, the Warriors will be competing a year up, stepping into games against a very strong 2016 Oshawa Kicks side and a 2016 Whitby team known for fast play, pressure, and disciplined defending. The Warriors’ coaching staff expects the matchup to be a true test of mentality, teamwork, and on-field decision-making.
“We’re not just looking at the results—we’re looking at how the boys respond,” the team said. Coach Mike has emphasized that the players must continue the process: stay composed, execute the fundamentals, and play for each other even when the competition is bigger, quicker, and more physical.
Coach Mike added that while the other groups are older, the tournament is the right opportunity to challenge character and build confidence through the moments that matter. “This is where growth happens,” he informed the players. “We’ll compete hard, communicate, and keep earning trust with every possession.”
The Warriors enter Thornhill prepared to learn quickly and raise their game as they face opponents expected to post a challenge throughout the weekend. With the tournament coming at a critical stage in the season, the Heavens Eleven Warriors will be focused on matching effort, maintaining structure, and building resilience match by match.
As the whistle blows on August 23, the Warriors will carry one message into every game: keep working, stay together, and rise to the challenge—because the best way to measure progress is how a team performs when it’s tested.
